Sivalingam

This Sivalingam is sculptured from a granite rock that originated from MahabalipuramIndia, which is famous for it's monuments and temples including the very famous Shore Temple.

It is a kāntalinga (kānta - Magnetic in Sanskrit) and has magnetic properties. There is also a halo present when photographed under infra red light. This halo is visible in one of the Sivalingam's images that come up at random.

Sivalingam is a name and a symbol given around 2500 BCE to explain the cosmic energy believed to be GOD. This site it designed to giving you the opportunity to connect with this cosmic energy through mass-collective meditations & prayers. Siva, whose name means “auspicious one” in Sanskrit, is in it's different forms known as the creator, protector and destroyer.

Lingam, (Sanskrit: “sign” or “distinguishing symbol”) also spelled Linga, a votary object that symbolizes the god Siva. It is a smooth cylindrical mass. Often it rests in the centre of a lipped, disk-shaped object, the Yoni, which is an emblem of the goddess Shakti. Lingam and Yoni together to symbolize the union of the male and female principles and the totality of all existence.

Therefore the Cosmic energy, the life force which is existent everywhere was symbolised by the Sivalingam.

Sri Yantra

The Sri Yantra, seen above the Sivalingam, in ancient traditions, is a literally a "device" for spiritual advancement. The dot in the very center is representative of the Source ofthe universe. This dot or bindu in Sanskrit, is the "singularity" from which all manifest reality emerges. It is believed to be the point of creation.

The Sri Yantra in its central portion contains nine triangles. Four of them point upward and represent the unmanifest power of the universe; all that is beyond our quotidian sense perceptions. They are thought of as being masculine and represent the masculine aspect of divinity. The five downward-pointing triangles represent the divine feminine and the manifest aspects of the world.

Om Nama Sivaya chant

Om ( a + u + m), corresponds to the three stages of cosmic creation, and when it is read or chanted , it celebrates and aligns the creative powers of the universe.

"Na" means Not and "Ma" means Me in Sanskrit. Therefore Nama Sivaya literally means "Not me - Sivaya" . Meaning it is not me but the Auspicious One (GOD). This could also be recited as Sivaya Nama and means "Sivaya -Not me ". Auspicious One and not me .

The OM NAMASIVAYA chanting is a celebration and acceptance of GOD being responsible for all three stages (creation, protection and destruction) of the cosmic dance.
